Event "BlackBerry Developer Conference Asia 2011 in Nusa Dua", Bali from 0.13 to 14 Januari 2011, utilized Research In Motion (RIM) to launch several new products. But, not a product for consumers of course, but application development tools for the developers.
Over the past 2 days, about 500 developers dam participants from various countries to get information directly from RIM experts. The event was also conducted hands-on in which the developer can simply try the new development tools and an explanation directly from experts. What are some new tools that can be used in that application makers?
First is the BlackBerry Web Works SDK for Tablet OS. This is a development tool or software development kit (SDK) to create a web-based applications on the BlackBerry Playbook and BlackBerry smartphones with BlackBerry OS 6. With this device, web and mobile application developers can take advantage of technology WebKit rendering engine that supports web standards like HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript. Some of the ease of application development is available as a simple command line tool and a tool for change directly to W3C Widget WebWorks Package.
Second, RIM introduce the Playbook for the first time in Asia and allowed the developers to try out immediately. The developers had the opportunity to obtain such devices for free with how to make application and register to RIM. Deadline extended to March 15, 2011 from the previous deadline of January. Developers who qualify will receive the prize.
Third, the RIM BlackBerry Payment Service launched in Beta SDK. This is the transaction model in RIM applications offered to developers so that can benefit not only the pattern of payment each time a user downloads an application only. By implementing it, developers can apply the method of payment via subscription business model, can do the unlocking of the application, and payment based on usage.
RIM BlackBerry Push Service update v.1.0.1 and the BlackBerry Java SDK Plug-in for Eclipse version 1.3 for developers to create applications more productive. On this occasion, RIM also announced that the BlackBerry Messenger API beta version already available and will menbukanya fully in the coming months so that applications can be directly connected to the communication through the fuel.
